Resistors are cheap, and don't take up a whole lot of space.. so whenever I see them at a Hamfest (amature radio swapmeet) I buy 'em.. never know when you'll need one!
The 'Shack will probably have what you need in a "variety pack" with several other values for a couple bucks.. while expensive compared to what "real" electronics parts places charge, it's still way cheaper than buying a new tach.
