Well, here's what I know -

To arnswine... it does it all the time. Well, not one continuous backfire, but here's an example: I'll be driving down the road, I come to a stop sign. I stop, I then pull forward, just like normal by pushing the gas. When I reach the speed I need to be at (usually about 30 mph since it's a resedential neighborhood) I let off the gas and it is a kind of "pop" noise. Not a super loud "POW!"...just a pop. It does this whenever I push the gas increasing speed, then let off.

I think what you both said about the lean fuel mixture may be key. When I bought the truck, it's idle speed was set really low - to save gas. It runs just fine, but I wonder if that could be the problem?

Thanks guys
