According to Chevy Duty parts catalog, the information they give on changes for 60 to 66 trucks, 1966 is the year the Th350 three speed was available. There are differences in the emergency brake cables to work with the re-positioning of the cross-member to accept the Th350 mount. Maybe this will help.
