I used a leather cover from Wheelskins (
www.wheelskins.com - Sorry, never mastered links to the sites). The local NAPA didn't carry them, but the big city supplier 120 miles south of us swung by the next day on its regular run. The cover isn't one of the nice old-fashioned wrap on style but it looks pretty good. The kit comes with twine and a needle for stitching it onto the wheel. Comes in a number of colors. I got dark brown, which was pretty close to my wheel color. One problem is that although it fit on the AD wheel's big circumference, it was fatter than the diameter of the rim, what you grip with your hands. So I cut the cover narrower and poked new stitch holes in it and reglued the edge. A tedious job. Local shoe repair gave hints on the kind of glue to reinforce the cut edge. If I were to do it over again, I would layer and glue leather strips inside the cover to tighten the fit and get a fatter wheel to grab onto.
