thieves usually use a slide hammer,thread it into the key hole & whack away,I have seen it done & was amazed how well it worked,,or they just take a reg hammer & break off the whole end of the column
(not recommended if you wanna re-use the column). I usually just chip the old cyl away w/a small chisel. brian
