What about cutting out all of the remaining strips and installing a small television.
If the truck ever breaks down you could at least watch a movie or something while waiting on the wrecker ( unless your battery is the problem ).
Kind of kidding, but you might be able to cut them all out and incorporate something in the new large hole to make it appear as if it were done intentionally.
If it were mine I would seriously consider creating something out of wood that could be stained and sealed to house at least a radio. But then, I am a carpenter...
