As Red58 says the steering column is a darker shade of gray. The original dash covering was gray and had a dull dimple/pimple finish to it in order to cut down on the glare. Not sure on your 57 but my 59 interior color was/is what is commonly called Champagne. Kind of a gold tan/brown color with a hint of metallic to it. This subject has been discussed many times before and if I am not mistaken the paint is available from a couple of the vendors. You may want to do a search on the subject for further info and vendors.
