During the winter, I am working up the bench seat on my '51 3100. I wanted a stock appearance with refurbished padding and new vinyl cover. This week, I noticed in the new
Custom Classic Trucks magazine (Feb. 04) a nice tech article on rebuilding a bench seat for a '57 3100. This seat has tilt back, offering access to the area behind the seat. As my '51 project includes a gas tank relocation, this appeals to me.
So here are my question(s):
-Were tilt seats available in '57 trucks or are they a custom modification?
-If they were stock, will the '57 tilt-back frame fit in a '51 3100 AD cab?
Let me know before I get in too deep on my stock, rigid frame bench seat!
