| | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 66 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 66 | I took 6 inches out of my gm tilt column, I also did as Joe mentioned cut the outer portion higher to make cutting the inner easier. When i welded the inner shaft back together i inserted a 3/4 inch rod into the shafts and drilled and plug welded the pieces together. I also had to relocate and modify the high beam switch and linkage as I am using all the swithes on the column......Good luck, Dale
