Well, I got the engine from the machine shop. The bore went .030” over. The crankshaft mains and rod journals went .020” under. Rod bearings were no problem, but I still had to find the mains. I looked on eBay but didn’t really want to get stuff from Turkey or Great Britain. So after getting the in-depth knowledge from the brainiacs here, I decided to go with the later model mains and file the notch for the tab. And wouldn’t you know, AutoZone had the darned things. $116+tax and shipping. Had them in 2 days. Painted the block and head this morning and fit up the main bearings this afternoon. As Jerry and several others said, it was a no-brainer. So far it works great. Plastigage next, then I can get the rest of it bolted together. Again, thanks everyone for the info. I hope to be able to return the favor many time over.
