When getting ready for my first drive, I pushed in my clutch pedal and gently tried to put the tranny into 2nd gear and then reverse. I could feel the gears starting to grind, which meant the clutch wasn't pushed in all the way. So, I adjusted the clutch linkage and it was way more than I thought I needed. After finally adjusting it to where I could put it into gear and after some test drives, I noticed the pedal was engaging right off the floor. I then adjusted it even more, so that it would not engage until I lifted about an inch or so. Maybe you haven't adjusted it enough? I was surprised at how much I originally had to adjust mine.
