On my '46, the brake light switch is located on the firewall on the engine side of the brake pedal. My brake lights stopped working one time and the switch tested OK. My brake light wiring goes through my Signal-Stat 800 turn signal and I ended up taking it apart to spray all the contacts with electronic cleaner. After cleaning, my brake lights started working again and they are still working today.
