Depending on the type of set-up, you might have some problem lining up the pulleys.Should not be too much problem.
On your new chain and rear set, just make sure you have the #1 cylinder at TDC and line up the timing marks on the gears.
Should be fine unless you get into degreeing the cam.

WHat are you going to do with the gear drive set-up????
