Currently, I don't have a late production 235 engine disassembled, one of the ones that came from the factory with an oil passage for hydraulic lifters. I've read somewhere that all blocks from around 1958-62 had that passage, even the truck blocks that came from the factory with solid lifters. Does anyone have a block handy that you can measure? I need to know the diameter of the passage that runs from front to back through the lifter bores, and whether it is drilled all the way from front to rear, or maybe from both ends without meeting in the middle? I'm considering possibly making a drilling guide to modify earlier blocks, and sleeving the bores down a few thousandths to use hydraulic lifters for a MOPAR/AMC engine. Thanks!
