Well, I'm REALLY late to the conversation here. The complete '36 Low Roof windshield frame is about 1 inch shorter in the middle than the '37-'38. The top of a '36 frame is almost flat as compared to the '37-'38 frame which has a distinct arch or crown. I have trucks from all three years and have replaced the frames on both styles.
The bottom corners are the most common spots to rust out. If your frame is solid, you will be time and $$ ahead to repair it. If and when you find a replacement, it is likely that it will need some love too.
