We used to use it in situations where there was a chronic leak due to slightly warped flanges, etc. It's a thick liquid that's applied in a thin bead from the tube and spread with a putty knife, right before assembly- - - - -with or without a gasket. www.ebay.com/itm/236671458753?Jerry
