Dave - My 1954 AEA Original Equiment Parts Catalog indicates the DR# 1107931 starter is only listed for 1942-48 Cadillac's. It uses a DR# 1118102 solenoid for that starter.

Not sure what you have was originally meant for the 302, but maybe something a PO or starter rebuild shop put together???
