I don't know about Alabama, but the Co-Op stores in Tennessee sell non-alcohol gasoline. The closest one to you will probably be in Fayetteville. The low lead 100 Avgas burns a little slower than 87 octane, so the only downside to using it might be a bit hotter exhaust temperatures even if you don't mix it with 87. On the race engines I used to build, I ran avgas with 5% Diesel fuel by volume mixed in, to get the equivalent of about 105 octane- - - - -at just over half the price the racetrack wanted for the Pure Firebird racing gas they tried to make us run!
