For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2007 Posts: 226 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2007 Posts: 226 | I’m at what little I have of my wits’ end. I have a 1964 Chevy 327 in my 57 NAPCO truck. The engine has about 200 miles on a rebuild. It runs well, but I have a leak that appears to be coming from the rear main seal area. I replaced the standard 2 piece seal with an offset type from FelPro, and I have the same leak. I used tracer dye and I don’t see any other evidence of leaking other than around the engine side of the flywheel. The crank was ground .020” if that is a clue. My PCV system passed the pinch test on the hose and nothing’s blowing out of the oil fill tube. Thanks for any ideas. Larry | | |
