My first Pontiac Tempest came with a Rochester model BC, meaning it had the thermostatic choke option. Other than always having a slight flat spot off idle no matter what we did, it worked fine and delivered decades of craptacular, flat spot off idle service. Car got 27mpg on the highway, can't ask much more than that from GM's first postwar four in a car that was bigger than a Beetle.
