Your undercoating was likely dealer added or applied by some third party like Ziebart.

They were just painted with a flat/satin black from the factory.

Are you talking about chips in the paint inside the wheel well?

I doubt you're driving on salty roads or even in the rain so why bother with undercoating? The truck is going to be living the life of Riley from now on.
