Jim - Not sure what you mean by "1500" series??? Are you talking about a Canadian Chevy 1500 Series truck? If I remember correctly, the Canadian Chevy 1500 Series trucks were the equivalent of the US Chevy 4000-6000 Series trucks (Big Bolts), so they should share the same fenders, hoods and grilles except for badging. They all used the same sized cabs from pickup through the Big Bolt trucks, so I don't think that should be a problem.
Only other difference I can think of that might have some effect is if the truck frame is the earlier or later cab mount design, which in the US Chevy's changed over from 1948 to 1949 and later (see Shop Manual diagram for comparison).
