Truck engines in the 1940s and 50s were designed to work for a living. That usually involved running wide open all day with a maximum gross weight load- - - -or more likely a big overload. The Cowboy Cadillacs we're building these days might- - - - -occasionally, be tasked with hauling an iced-down Yeti cooler to the local "Show and Shine" tailgate party.
