Hi folks,

I imagine this has been addressed, but I can't find it (at least not easily) through the forum search. I appreciate the indulgence of the true experts who frequent this site.

What, if anything, is the difference between 216 and early (41-53) 235 oil pans? I have one of each, and I cannot see any differences either in the overall dimensions or in the dimensions or depth of the troughs for the connecting rod dippers. I remember being told years ago that they are different, and I do have a pan from a splash-oil engine that is stamped "235" on the side, so I'm figuring there must be a difference.

Thanks in advance for shedding some light on this issue for me!
