I can personally confirm the long life. I bought a 1978 C20 new. It was my daily driver, putting around 10k to 12k miles per year on it, changing the oil every 3000 miles, until 2008, when I retired it and put antique tags on it. I figure I’ve put around 2000 miles per year on it since then, changing the oil once a year. The odometer quit working at 385k miles. I estimate it has somewhere more than 400k miles now. It still starts quickly and runs smoothly. I found this posting while taking a break from having just finished changing spark plugs and doing a compression check. It still has 150 psi in each cylinder.
