Yes! Lots of compressed air. Use safety glasses! I once got some nasty carb cleaner in my eye - stung like hell and a panic run to the wash basin to rinse thoroughly - don't want to repeat that. Using Dawn sounds like a good idea.
(off topic - Dawn doesn't really save birds after an oil spill; most die regardless. But it makes the humans feel better)
