Does anyone have a bare 235 block sitting around- - - - -one that's drilled for an oil passage for hydraulic lifters? I'm wondering what the diameter of that passage is- - - - -and whether it's drilled all the way from front to back? I've seen some juice lifter blocks (not necessarily Chevy) that have the gallery drilled from both ends without meeting in the middle. I'm thinking of fabricating a deep hole drill jig to bore that passageway in early blocks that were not drilled for hydraulics originally. That modification would be used in combination with sleeves in the lifter bores that would allow later design, more reliable AMC/Ford/MOPAR lifters to be run in a stovebolt block.
