I understand a stromberg 97 flows about 150 CFM so that's a total of 750 CFM. That otta do it and then some for a 270. A fellow I knew back in the day had a 53 chevy coupe with a 270 GMC sporting 5 Stromberg 97s, headers and a big cam. There was great sport betting when he'd go up against 55 Chevys with 283s both in street racing and at the drags. That was the hot setup then when performance 283s were current production. Nyle's 53 would blow the doors off all but a few of the 283 challengers. Now, 327s were another matter... They had just come out an a few guys had sprung for crate motors. 1951 3800 1-ton"Earning its keep from the get-go"In the DITY Gallery1962 261 (w/cam, Fenton headers, 2 carbs, MSD ign.), SM420 & Brown-Lipe 6231A 3spd aux. trans, stock axles & brakes.
