I’m replacing the front wheel studs and front drums on 1941 1/2T, model AK. The studs and drums were purchased from Jim Carter.
I noticed, when looking at the drums that the center section is .125” thicker than the original. The wheel studs that were sent are Dorman, model 610-124, knurl is .570”, and the length is 1.375”.
When measuring the original studs. I get .560” for the knurl and 1.375” for the length. I seem to remember that with the original drum/stud/ wheel combination that the lug nut was just below the end of the stud when tight. My question is, with the drum being .125” thicker. Will the lug nut screw on far enough? Does anyone have any suggestions on what wheel studs to use? I’d like to find out before pressing everything together and finding a problem.
Again, any help would be appreciated.
