Gordy, I may have missed something in the thread, if you are changing the rear axle out with an open driveline 55.5 and up rear-end the pivots will not be an issue as they should be removed. If you just swapping out differentials then you will need to secure the pivots. On my 54 I added an axle perch to the back side of the axle and another bottom plate.
