I am replacing the original swedged in steering balls with aftermarket threaded ones from Jim Carter on a 1941 1/2 ton, model AK, for the drag link. My question is how much of a press fit should I have? I’m getting between .004” - .006”, depending on the stud and bore variances. Also, what would be the torque on the castle nut? I called the vendor and they had no clue on how to answer.
Any help would be appreciated.
