I didn't take any pictures of the entire finished job but you can see that the new brake shoes have a provision for that pin but the 1950 backing plate does not so there's no need to use one. The manner of attachment of =Huck brakes is quite secure.

I used E clips in place of the large weird ones used by the factory. They are 5/8" size.

I used the little horseshoe clips found on a wide variety of later model Bendix brakes to secure the little springs. Bothe the horseshoes and E -clips are a lot easier to use than the original style retainers, in my opinion.

Smaller E clips could be used in place of the horseshoes if you wanted to use them.
