hcb3200, Thanks for the info and details. After reading your reply and seeing pics, I'm going to pull back on my suggestion on that spring. Looking closer at the picture I found, you can see that the hood shown is actually a GMC truck hood and not Chevy as the original poster had claimed. Perhaps it was correct for the GMC's??? Or, that spring could be something someone just added on too.
