Back in 2017 we visited Luckenbach TX, a 1300 mile round trip from our place in Arkansas. Drove our 1951 3600, with a flatbed, original engine (stock 50,000 mile 216) in good condition and with the original Rochester carburetor. It has a S10, T5 transmission with .72 5th gear and original 4.57 rear gears (on that trip). We averaged 16 to 20 mpg. Mileage was really affected by hills and wind. Head wind BAD...tail wind very good for mileage. Speed was usually in a 50 to 65mph window. Did see 72 one time in Dallas traffic for a short spell and that was it, all she had.
