I redid my front brakes never saw a setup like this before so I videoed it. Got new wheel cylinders, relined shoes, and turned drums. I noticed putting it together that the brake shoes seamed to be sitting in just slightly (less then 1/16") from the cylinder rods, but it all worked. I adjusted the shoes so they only rubbed the drum about an 1/8 of a full turn. About 100 miles later (over three months) I was feeling a pull to the right. When I jacked up the truck I found that I could not turn the wheel without a lot of force. I had a broken spring, replaced it reassembled and wheel turned fine. Pumped the brake a few times and the wheel would not turn again. pulled it all apart, as I moved the drum out, suddenly I could turn the drum. When I got it apart the cylinder cap, which seams to float on the unit, was kind of angled seemed to go back okay, but the other end of the cylinder was not doing that. Because the shoes are attached to a frame bolted to the backing plate do they sometimes need to be shimmed out? I'm guessing the cylinder cap was binding and got stuck but I don't know. I pulled the cylinder and it looks good. I looked at my video and everything was together the way it was when I first took it apart.
