My local muffler shop told me not to cut up the side engine pan and he went the extra mile to bend the exhaust to fit. He also made the exhaust in two pieces and added a flange, so that I could remove the exhaust when needed. Not sure if the bending affects the performance of the system, but I'm pretty happy with the outcome. This is a '60 235 in a '46 frame.
