I would never rent a blaster since the local u-sandblast-it place charges about $1/minute and they supply the protective head gear w/ fresh air feed, the gloves and the foam earplugs.
Think about it, $30 for 30 minutes of rust vaporizing joy and you just drive away when you're done. No muss, no fuss, no cleanup.
