As long as the ball on the lash adjuster is still round, the original setup does a good job- - - -just do a valve adjustment occasionally to maintain the proper clearance. If the ball on the adjuster wears and develops a high spot in the middle, replace the adjuster. That can cause the end of the pushrod to crack. Also check for wear on the rocker arm tip where it contacts the valve stem.
