Have a good look at the jet. My carb was running lean* and I found the jet partially plugged with some white stuff - looked like calcium.
Cleaned it out with appropriate size welding tip cleaner and it runs better now.
*I knew the carb was running lean as it smoothed out when I pulled the choke out.
