In my limited knowledge, I will say a true spot weld is a resistance weld...something that can't be duplicated with your wire feed unit.
What you can do is make plug welds that work great, and when ground down a tad could be passed off as a spot weld.
Maybe you are confusing the two processes. Won't all this be covered with paint, carpet and undercoat anyway?
