1935 truck with 1938 engine. You're movin' on up!
It's actually a 1936 block that was cast in 1938 as a replacement (a 1938 engine would be a 216). The machined surface in his picture is missing a serial number, meaning the mechanic that replaced his engine didn't transfer the original engine number over to the replacement block (very common oversight).
The engine serial numbers and the body serial numbers were never the same.
