So, I was looking at the spare tire mount pieces and I think I have everything I need, although the threaded rod seems to be to long. The one Jim Cater sells is 27 1/2".
The old one that I have is 24 1/2" long, it also has a slight bend just above the short set of threads. It looks to have broken/cut and welded for a repair and is broken again at the weld. I assume the short threaded end goes through the fender and the longer threaded end goes through the piece that bolts to the cab. Dose anybody maybe have a drawing or a diagram of how this goes together and whether or not there is a slight bend in the rod and the correct length of the rod?
