Looks like it grabs the glass with the two pads on the right, and then pulls the frame away from the glass. I think it would have to be used in a couple different positions to get the frame loosened because of the interference with the door frame. But probably easier than with a prybar or other tools. I need to replace one of my vent windows, as it was too small and left a gap at the top rear. I'll likely wind up taking the whole assembly out (again.)
