So I received the sniper 2. Installed and found out fittings for fuel regulator were not included. No parts houses around me carried 6AN oringed fittings so a couple of orders and I had what I needed...
Got the regulator in place and plumbed. It leaked from every source including between the two halves of the unit. Every screw and plug were loose.
They said it came pre set which was incorrect. It came at 25lbs and I needed 60. Of course they didn't send a gauge with the replacement.
Got it fired and let it run for 3 fan cycles and then drove around my driveway. So far here are my impressions.
1. Unless I simply got a bad one the sniper 2 is much better. 2. Throttle response is much better and is manageable. It appears programming softens the roll in. 3. If you're wondering if you should buy the wiring block do it. It is so much better. I will be buying shortly. 4. Engine is smoother when at idle and when rolling into throttle vs the 1.
Of course it is winter now and I can't put it on the road for a real test, but it is moving again.
I will be making wiring permenant and cleaning up soon. With the fuel regulator in plain view takes away from the nostalgia but it is what it is.
