I pulled my original 216 out of my 52 3100 truck for a valve job, clutch, motor mounts etc. I got it back in yesterday but now I cant get my shift rods hooked up correctly. The shift lever in the cab has lots of resistance and is positioned very high like past where either reverse or 2nd should be. My little grandson was moving the lever without it hooked to the transmission could something has jumped out of line inside the shift mechanism? Not sure how to proceed. Was thinking to put both levers under the hood in neutral and then try to move the lever in the cab to the neutral position and see if it pops back in. I'm hesitant to open up the shift box.
