When I restored my '50 COE the previous owner had welded straps to the frame just behind the cab on the driver's side. A home made tool box was attached. A friend gave me this socket set box, measuring 20x8.5x6 inches (see attached pictures) which I painted semi-gloss black. Note that the front panel drops down, giving good access to the bottom of the box. I use it store a fire extinguisher, rear axle lock nut tool and various other tools. It is not water proof but water "resistant" and will stay dry with washing or brief run in the rain.
