Do you mean like don’t drive all the way across a huge parking lot with just the stomp starter engaged and the ignition off?
A rebuilt to as-new condition 6 volt starter is not as fragile as often reported in my experience.
Would I try that with a well worn and somewhat tired 6 volt starter? No. Should I have driven across the parking lot with just my new starter? No (but Jack Danials would beg to differ, all in the name of science
).
