The 54 car had standoffs that replaced 2 screws on the shifter box. They are common parts. The bracket that holds the switch could be fabricated. The switch and bracket are a bit expensive, but it can be found on eBay using the GM part number 1997911. One of the box shift levers is longer than a car (or vice-versa) but the bracket can be adapted. I shamelessly robbed some pictures from Chevy Talk. There are universal switches available, or one could simply rig up a bracket and use the AD truck stop light switch. One of the kit options for adding a backup light to a truck is simply using an under-dash manually operated switch but it would need to be illuminated so that you would have a reminder to turn the switch off when reversing is finished.
