That's interesting to me. I'm surprised that the tester's actually have carbon resistors capable of handling that load. They surely must get pretty hot when connected for 15 seconds. My original question, I was mainly thinking about the handheld type testers. I couldn't see any answers while the site was down, and I bought a handheld unit in the meantime. Since I was a little concerned about the handheld units, I spent a little more and bought one from Schumacher, in hope that it will be better than the ones from Harbor Freight and some of the low ballers. It should be here today. I'll let you know how it works out.
