DJ and VEW - If I'm thinking correctly, there is supposed to be upper and lower frame connectors that join the 2 halves of the windshield frame together to also support that regulator installation. They connectors both have 4 threaded holes to accept the screws to hold the frame sections together along with the inside division bar reinforcements. The lower one also uses the 2 inner holes of the connector to mount the regulator bracket on top of the lower reinforcement to the frame (see screen grab web pics I found showing those details). Jim Carter offers those connectors as a set under Part# WI141. The original frame connectors holes are probably rusted or stripped out so attaching anything there will be problematic.

The screen grabs were taken from this detailed Motor Trend article. The article may help you in your windshield work too. wink
